This high quality, British-made, lab-grade ratemeter-scintillation probe combo has a lot in common with similarly specified models in Mini 900 range, both in function, performance and form-factor.

Key features include a large logarithmically scaled meter showing both counts per second (0 – 2k CPS) and battery voltage. There’s an event clicker (with mute function), an easy to use audible alarm and a flexible assortment of power options. In full portable mode it can run on one or two 9 volt batteries, or six-cell AA holders, rechargeable batteries and for static bench use. There’s a socket for an external AC mains adaptor and it's housed in a sturdy ABS case fitted with a strong metal probe clip and a convenient carry handle.

The sensitive scintillation probe is based around a Sodium Iodide crystal. This is optimised for leak detection and contamination monitoring of Gamma and X-RaY sources with energies from 8-50keV.

The SD-10 was originally designed with the US market in mind, so we don’t see a lot of them on this side of the pond. Nevertheless this one has been very well looked after and in tip-top condition, both functionally and cosmetically. The ratemeter will be pulse-calibrated prior to despatch and comes with a check Certificate and our usual 6-month no-quibble guarantee.
