Uranium Marbles & UV Torch
(P001) £12.99 inc. UK P&P
This original, exclusive and
totally unique paperweight comprises a cylinder of crystal clear resin with
three Vaseline Glass ‘Uranium’ marbled embedded deep inside, backed with the
distinctive ‘Trefoil’ radioactivity emblem. Vaseline Glass contains trace
amounts of Uranium and when exposed to Ultra Violet light they emit an eerie
green glow. You will receive a UV torch with your order so you can see this
truly bizarre effect for yourself.
The miniscule amounts of radioactivity these
marbles emit -- well within international safety limits and below that of the
natural background radioactivity of some areas -- is safely contained by the
resin. Measuring approximately 60mm x 25mm, each felt-backed paperweight is
hand cast and individually numbered; they are only available from
anythingradioactive and will be produced in very small numbers so they could
become a real collector’s item in years to come.

Trinitite Fragments (P003) £15.99
inc. UK P&P
Deep inside the crystal
clear resin casting is a small number of Trinitite fragments. This is the
actual material created by the very first atomic bomb blast in the New Mexico
Desert in the early hours of July 16th1945. The sand beneath the bomb site was
fused into a strange green glass-like compound by the explosion. Over the years
it has lost almost all of its radioactivity and the dense resin blocks any
residual emissions. The fragments are suspended over a reproduction of the US
army map of the test site.
This is another anythingradioactive exclusive.
Trinitite from the test site is no longer allowed to be removed, so this is
a rare and possibly unrepeatable opportunity to own a little piece of history
from the Atomic age. Each paperweight measures approximately 65mm x 25mm,
backed with green felt and supplied with an information sheet about Trinitite
and the Trinity test.

About Vaseline Glass
Vaseline or Uranium Glass has a yellow green hue in
daylight and fluoresces bright green under Ultra-Violet light. Production of Vaseline glass in Britain began in 1835 and ceased by the end
of the WWII, but a small amount is still manufactured in the
USA and Czech Republic.
About Trinitite
Trinitite, named
after Project Trinity, started life as desert sand underneath the explosion of
the first Atomic bomb
